My rabbit and I are sitting about half a mile away from the still burning wreck of the car, our feet dangle into the death pit I'd been digging myself all night.

I sip a glass of "Diet Busch Light" watered down with "Evian Double-Sparkling Water" and stare out across the flat red dusty surface to the shimmering highway. Its silver color in the heat haze makes it look like a stream of mercury. Up close it also looks like a stream of mercury, and so does it's mirror twin that hangs a good 70 feet above it.

"Baby, I think I'm feeling better now."
My rabbit takes a break from the brown banana chunk she is nibbling to float up into the air and start spinning horizontally.

"This is the last drink, for now. I just need to even out last night a bit."

There had been three eternally refilling shot glasses of "Amaretto Liquor" affixed to the dash of the now totaled silver bullet. Drinks with more dangerous a sugar content than alcohol are my weakness, much like type 2 diabetes on this morning.

I toss a pair of Ray Bans into the pit and my rabbit does the same with an oversized silver pair of Aviators.

Wayfarers are also a type of sunglasses but I don't know what they look like.

The hole is starting to fill up.

"We should probably get back to the road Baby."

She floats into my arms and coughs up a large sticky ruby.

"Good we can barter for a ride with this."
She points one milky red and blue eye at me and temporarily pauses the natural hyperventilation of all adorable lagomorphs.
"No Baby we can't hit somebody with this, it's valuable. Also I might be sober one day, I have to start being normal and good."

We head back to the side of the silver highway to wait.
Just realized I never posted this here.

Now I have.

Day complete.
